March Field Air Museum, April 2023

I stopped by the March Field Air Museum a couple months ago, primarily because the weather was so nice and also because there were so many clouds in the sky. The clouds are nice because they reduce the number of shadows and they just make for a more interesting picture. They can also make it harder to edit, as you have to be careful not to blow out the clouds when you increase brightness and/or highlights. It is hard to have a favorite amongst these airplanes, but I do have one and it's the B-17, which are the first two pictures. This particular B-17 was used by General Ira Eaker, who was the man responsible for going to the UK to organize the Eighth Air Force for combat operations in Europe. It is currently painted in the same manner as when it was flown when it ferried General Eaker back and forth from Europe and the U.S.
